Domestic cats have been showing up everywhere for me lately, and while I don’t often paint their larger cousins, it felt right, so that’s what I’ve been doing - Plenty from earlier this week, now Isis, and I have a couple other ideas but am not quite sure how to even start them yet, so they are going to simmer for a bit.
That’s one of the most challenging parts of my job, harboring patience while an idea solidifies. I tend to want to jump in and chase the adrenaline rush of the unknown. But I’ve learned to temper it just a bit - enough so that I’m not entirely blind to what I’m signing up for, with enough left undefined that there surely will be an adventure ahead.
Which I guess means I’m looking at an afternoon of computer work, which I’ve been putting off for weeks because my muse has been calling so loudly and insistently. Unless I could try one little thing first, since my palette is already set up.......
